About Climate 200

Across Australia, dozens of local communities are already running promising campaigns to elect candidates at the next federal election who stand for climate action, political integrity, and gender-equality. Climate 200 exists to support the most strategic and winnable campaigns with funding, expertise, and infrastructure. Taking on established political parties is hard, so Climate 200 exists to level the playing field to help these campaigns take on political goliaths up and win.

At the time of writing, Climate 200 had raised $4 million from 5,500 donors. We aim to double that, and support 10-20 values-aligned campaigns at the next federal election.

The Process


Brass tacks

Everything is flexible for the right candidates, but here are our preferences: start ASAP and work through until 2 months after the next federal election (which could be called any day, but is likely to be mid-March or late May). We would prefer to have full-time positions on staff, but we’re open to part time or contractor engagements. We have a salary range in mind for each position and we’re happy to discuss that, but will be flexible given roles could change considerably based on which constellation of candidates apply.
