Former Deputy Mayor of Kingborough, award-winning business owner and mother of two, Clare Glade-Wright is the first ever woman to represent the seat of Huon in Tasmania. Following a convincing community-backed victory in May 2026, Clare now sits in Tasmania's Legislative Council alongside a strong crossbench in the Upper House.
Clare ran a truly grassroots campaign, powered by hundreds of local volunteers and grounded in genuine conversations across the Huon community. She was elected on a commitment to integrity, community engagement and practical local leadership, and now brings those values to Tasmania's Parliament.
A passionate advocate for environmental stewardship and practical local solutions, Clare has been a strong voice for protecting Tasmania's waterways, supporting thriving local communities and ensuring decisions are made in the long-term interests of the Huon.
Climate 200 is proud to have supported Clare's successful community-backed campaign in 2026.
