Sydney is doing politics differently (success)

We’ve just launched our plan to turbocharge the most promising community independent campaigns – so we’re excited to speak to some of the great campaigners inside this movement.

Join us for a community event to hear about how we can help local campaigns across the country, find ways to get involved, and meet like-minded people who love people-powered climate action.

We’ll hear from:

  • Nicolette Boele is the independent candidate in the Sydney seat of Bradfield. At the last federal election, her campaign secured the biggest swing against the Liberals of any community independent candidate. Then, last year, her grassroutes campaign in support of the Voice referendum made Bradfield the only Liberal seat in the country to vote ‘Yes’.
  • Katerina Gaita was instrumental in setting up the ‘Voices of Goldstein’ – the community group that chose former foreign affairs correspondent Zoe Daniel to run as the independent candidate, and who ultimately won the safe blue-ribbon seat from Tim Wilson.

The event will be hosted by our convenor, Simon Holmes à Court and Executive Director, Byron Fay, and MC-ed by award winning writer Briony Benjamin.
